There are several other methods you can use to clone fig trees, but I don’t use them. Cloning fig trees using the water method or the fig-pop method is enough for me.
I must confess that several years ago I tried to clone several cuttings in sand, but it was a disaster because I didn’t water it enough and the cuttings failed.
