Why prune a fig tree? I remember when I was just a kid back in Greece I would climb huge fig trees to reach their fruit. All of those trees were NEVER watered, fertilized or pruned, yet they were just loaded with delicious fruit. Well, treating fig trees that way is not a good idea. Prune your fig trees to access its fruit easily without using a ladder or climbing the tree.
