Adiós Gnats!

If I had a penny for every failed attempt to stop fungus gnats from killing my fig cuttings, I’d have two dollars.

Fungus gnats are one of the most frustrating pests when you’re rooting fig cuttings. The adults are annoying, but the real problem is underground, their larvae feed on tender young roots, exactly what your developing cuttings are trying to grow. If left unchecked, they can slow growth, weaken plants, and in severe cases, lead to rot and loss of your precious fig cutting.

The most effective, natural tools I use to fight back is Neem Cake.

Neem cake is the leftover material from neem seeds after the oil has been extracted. It works as both a soil amendment and a natural pest control, and it’s especially useful in propagation setups where the soil stays consistently moist, prime real estate for gnats.

Why Neem Cake Works?

Neem Cake targets the larval stage in the soil, which is where the real damage happens. When mixed into your potting medium, neem cake creates an environment that is hostile to gnat larvae but safe for your plants. As a bonus, it also adds organic matter and mild nutrients, supporting healthier root development.

I used it this year with GREAT SUCCESS and I strongly recommend using it.

CORRECTION!!! In the video I state that I bought it from Amazon. Well, that was an error. I got it from Walmart online.
