I’ve been shopping at Colden Springs Farm for several years, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the quality of their products and the overall experience. The hosts, Jocelyn and Tyler, despite growing vegetables on just half an acre, they consistently offer an impressive variety of fresh, locally grown produce. They raise chickens, pigs, and beef cattle, providing a wonderful selection of farm-fresh meats.
One of the things I appreciate most is that they’re open for much of the year, which means I can regularly stock up on their outstanding chicken, beef, and pork products. When the warmer months arrive and the hens are laying abundantly, I make a point of stopping by every week for fresh eggs. The quality and flavor are noticeably better than what you’ll typically find in a grocery store.
If you’re planning a visit, be sure to check their Facebook page beforehand for current hours and availability. They’re generally open on Fridays and Saturdays, but their schedule can change during the colder winter months. A quick look at their Facebook page before you head out will ensure you have the most up-to-date information. If you’re looking for fresh, locally raised food and friendly service, Colden Springs Farm is well worth a visit.
Jocelyn, Tyler and I had been talking about collaborating for quite a while, and we finally made it happen with a Fig Tree Clinic on Saturday, May 31, 2026. If you had a question about fig trees, I was happy to do my best to answer it. Let me start by saying that they are such wonderful hosts because they made me feel so welcome to their farm store. The clinic hours were scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and I arrived promptly a few minutes before 10:00 a.m. It was cold, windy, and a bit rainy, and the weather stayed that way throughout the day.
Right at the gate was Mark, whom I have known for several years because he is a fellow fig enthusiast. He had stopped by to pick up some of the hydrated lime I had available. We talked for a while, and it was great to see him again.

Jocelyn had thoughtfully set up a tent outside the farm store for the clinic, but the weather had other ideas. It was windy, and after a few minutes of battling the gusts, I went inside the store where it was much warmer and more comfortable. Be sure to take a look at the framed sign Jocelyn created for the event, it was a wonderful touch and added a lot of charm to the day. Good times indeed.
Overall, the clinic was a great success. I had the pleasure of meeting several people who stopped by to share their fig-growing stories, experiences, and questions. In return, I shamelessly punished them by giving them my business card. It seemed only fair.
The conversations were enjoyable, the questions were thoughtful, and despite the less-than-ideal weather, everyone appeared to have a good time. We’re already making plans for another event and the date will be announced soon. Stay tuned!
